Dr. Ileana Hatton has more than 15 years of experience working with a diverse group of clients. She has held positions at two Sydney public hospitals, been a mental health service manager for Medicine Sans Frontier, and has worked in private practice. Dr Ileana has an interest in anxiety disorders. Her Ph.D. from the University of Sydney was on generalised anxiety disorder and is a member of the Anxiety Practitioners Network, Australia.
Dr. Ileana works from a holistic approach, integrating body-oriented practices with evidence-based therapies to help people achieve their goals and lead lives full of joy and fulfilment. She is trained in CBT/ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/ Schema Therapy/ EMDR/ Hakomi-based practice/ Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction among others. She continues to expand her knowledge and is currently training as a student in Acuenergetics (Level 2) and Hakomi (Level 2). She works with clients who are struggling with the effects from trauma, including early attachment, self-harm, difficulties with anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship problems, chronic pain, gut health, pregnancy, birth and fertility issues.
She has worked in Australia and internationally for Medecins sans Frontieres with survivors of conflict in the Middle East and Ethiopia. Dr. Ileana aims to create for her clients a safe, non-judgmental space to share whatever problems they are facing.
